Cashmanger RURAL wanted to show our support for drought-affected farmers in North Canterbury. We were proud to sponsor a group of farmers to attend the Super Rugby game in Christchurch, Crusaders v Hurricanes, recently.
Organised by the North Canterbury drought relief committee, the trip included attending the game as well as a meal and drinks.
North Canterbury farmers are facing the worst drought in living memory. The region is in the grip of a two-year drought, which is taking a heavy toll both financially and mentally for families in the area.
The trip to the rugby was planned to give the farmers time away from the farm with like-minded people and the chance to refresh themselves mentally.
Cashmanager RURAL owner and director, Brian Eccles, also attended the game and enjoyed meeting the farmers.
We are proud to be involved in such a worthy initiative and, like many, are hoping the drought breaks soon.
