Contract milkers Gerardo and Adrienne Pascua switched to Cash Manager Focus (Focus) about a year ago and Gerardo says the time saving capability alone has made the move a wise choice.
The couple and their children Gabriel (13) and Andrielle (6) are in their fourth season of contract milking. They moved to a property at Centre Bush near Winton in June 2019 where they run 585 mixed breed cows on 169h of mainly flat land.
Gerardo says the move to Focus has had a really positive effect on their business.
“I switched from Cash Manager RURAL to Focus and am so pleased with the result. I didn’t think it would make such a difference but switching over to Focus has been a positive move in many ways.
“Focus was easy to pick up and is a much faster application to use. For example, I prepare my own budget and when I open Focus my information is right there ready to go. I can make changes easily compared to RURAL when I had to print stuff out and it took time to find where we were at.”
Gerardo says working in real time also means their financials are up to date and he can log in from anywhere on any device and see where’s he’s at which is handy during busy times. He is also a fan of the Focus coding process.
“With Focus you make up your own codes which makes sense and if I make a coding error it’s easy to go back in and quickly change it. The new invoice scanning capability also makes a difference! When an invoice comes in, I now download this straight to the invoice scanner which converts the detail and attaches the information to our bank feed.”.
Gerardo says cash forecasting and GST returns are also easier to complete.
“The information you need is already in the system ready to use. Also, with YTD volumes I can see where things are at and the entire year is laid out so I can scroll across our income and outgoings and know where we headed, where things will get tight.”
Gerardo says their accountant is linked into their account and she said it was great to have access to files as she can go into and review without having to arrange to visit.
All in all, Gerardo is pleased he switched to Focus.
“The switch was easy and, because the information I’m seeing and using is right up to date, there’s no surprises.”
